Chisapani Nagarkot Trek also commonly known as The Kathmandu Valley Cultural Trail is a recently developed trekking trail in Nepal. It is very popular, short and easy trekking and is based around Kathmandu Valley. This trip is considered to be ideal to those who have limited time and still they love to experience the trekking with amazing mountain views and the local traditions. It is more of an extended walk that has a lot to offer visually, culturally and physically.

This trek starts with an hour ride from Kathmandu to Sundarijal. From Sundarijal you will trek to Chisapani. You will pass through Shivapuri National Park which is home to many wildlife and vegetations. The sunrise views and the sights of various mountains are the main attractions there at Chisapani. Then you will hike towards Nagarkot via Jhule. Early morning in the Nagarkot is a treat as you can see Annapurna range, Ganesh Himal, Langtang mountain range, Dorje Lakpa and Mt. Everest which lies in the Mahalangur Himalayan range just from your hotel top. 

This trek also include sightseeing around many UNESCO world heritage sites – Pashupatinath temple, Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Day 01: Arrival

Staffs from our office will welcome you at the Tribhuvan International airport and bring you to your hotel room. You can visit our office if you like, if not, you can rest at your hotel room.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

After the breakfast, representatives from our office will visit your hotel for the briefing of the trek and introduce you with your tour guide. Along with your tour guide, you will be going for a cultural and historical sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. You will visit Pashupatinath temple, Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath and Patan Durbar Square. Return early in the afternoon so that you will have enough time to prepare for your trekking which starts the following day.

Day 03: Drive to Sundarijal then trek to Chisapani (2165 m)

Walking time: 5 Hours

Today you will drive to Sundarijal from Kathmandu along with your guide which takes around one hour. Your hike starts from here where you will follow the uphill trail through Shivapuri National Park. Then you will pass Mulekharka Village from where you can see Kathmandu valley surrounded by green hills, and also you can see some mountains. After 4 hours of hike, you will reach Deurali from where you need to descend for about an hour to reach Chisapani. For the most part of the day you will be hiking through the jungle, so you will have the chance to see variety of bird and animals. After reaching the Chisapani, you can enjoy yourself by walking around the local village and visiting Buddhist Monastery. You can also enjoy the good sunset view onto the Himalayas from here.

Day 04: Chisapani to Nagarkot (1932 m)

Walking time: 6 Hours 30 minutes

Wake up early in the morning then go to the hotel rooftop from where you can see long mountain ranges to the north and a beautiful morning sunrise to the east. You will see incredible view of various mountain ranges like Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa and Mahalangur Himalayan range. Then after finishing your breakfast, you will hike towards the south east road through the jungle. After hiking for 3 hours you will reach Jhule where you will stop for your lunch. You will then trek through the local village and farmlands for the rest of the day. At last you will follow the gradual uphill trail for around 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Nagarkot.

Day 05: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel

Walking time: 5-6 Hours

Get up early in the morning to see the incredible sight of mountains and the sun rise. You can see Annapurna range, Ganesh Himal, Langtang mountain range, Dorje Lakpa and Mt. Everest which lies in the Mahalangur Himalayan range. Then after the breakfast you will start your trek towards Dhulikhel. Today the trail follows gradual downhill all the way to Dhulikhel from where you can enjoy the beautiful mountain sights and sunset. You will trek to Dhulikhel through Rohini Bhanjyang, Jaljalay, Sashi Pani and Kashi Bhanjyang. Overnight at Dhulikhel.

Day 06: Dhulikhel to Kathmandu

Wake up early in the morning to see the beautiful sunrise from the east. After breakfast you can enjoy walking around the local town. Today you will drive from Dhulikhel to Kathmandu by private car, but along the way you will stop at Bhaktapur for the sightseeing around culturally rich Bhaktapur Durbar Square. After reaching Kathmandu, you can walk around Thamel and buy gifts and souvenir to your loved ones.

Day 07: Departure

End of a short and sweet trek, you will be dropped to the airport for the final farewell.
