Everest or Khumbu region is the second most popular trekking destination after Annapurana Region. The main attraction of Everest trek is getting view of  Mount Everest , roof of the world - which is the highest mountain in the world with 8,848m height. The other attractions of Everest trek are Everest Basecamp at 5,340m, Kala pattar at 5,545m from where you can see the breathtaking view of mount Everest. Besides mount evesrest, khumbu region is popular for the sherpa villages and the Bhuddhist monasteries. Among the monasteries, the most popular and must visit monastery is Tyangboche monsatery where you can get acquianted with the monks chanting prayers moving around thier prayer wheels. 

The best time to visit Khumbu region is during summer and Autumn season. Since Everst is the popular destination for trekkers, you will find this region crowded during these times.

The diffuclty level of the Everest Trek is high comapred to Annapurna circuit. To get to Everest basecamp, you need to drive to Shivalaya and trek all the way to Everest basecamp.

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu
Welcome to the Himalayan country - Nepal. After your arrival at Tribhuvan Int. airport our representative will take you to the Hotel. You can walk around the Kathmandu city today.

Day 02: Sightseeing
Be ready at 9 AM, our manager will come with your tour guide for the day at the hotel to brief you about your trip. Today we will take you to the historical places and world heritage sites around Kathmandu such as popular hindu temple - Pashupatinath, popular buddhist stupa- Boudhanatha & Swyambunath and Patan Durbar Square. After short sightseeing spree we will get back to the hotel where we will introduce you to your trekking guide. Our guide will tell you at what time you need to be ready next day for the trek. In the mean time you can prepare for your trekking gears.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Shivalaya (1790m)
Driving Time: 8 hours
Today we will visit Shivalaya by local bus. The way to Shivalaya is zigzag and bumpy; you need to be prepared for it. It’s worth taking trip to shivalaya as you will be able to view the beautiful mountains, traditional country side villages, forests, rivers and landscapes. This will help you to get refreshed and get ready for the actual trek. You can also take private jeep at your own cost.

Day 04: Kinja (1630m)
Walking time: 5 hours
Excitement is on! Today we will start the real trekking. Please collect lots of energy and guts to take a trip. We will hike to Kinja through a steeply uphill trail till Deurali and follow the downhill trail. On your hike to Kinja we will pass through the local villages of the indigenous tribes – Magar, Newars, Sherpas, Farmlands, forests – where you can see different varieties of birds and some monkeys.

Day 05: Lamjura la (3430m)
Walking time: 6 hours
Today whole day you need to follow uphill trail toward the pass called Lamjura La (3530m) – the highest point on the trek between Jiri to Namche bazar. Hike slowly through the forest & local villages. Along the way you can see nice hills & valley view, forest covered by Chestnut, Oak nut, Rhododendron, magnolia, maple & birch trees. Today we will enter Sherpa land where we see many Buddhist Mani walls, pray flags, monastery & Stupa along the way.

Day 06: Junbesi (2700m)
Walking time: 5 hour
Trail go gradually up to the ridge about 1 hour then steeply down through pine forest until wooden hotel then rest of trail gently descend  through grassy land all the way to Junbesi which is the splendid Sherpa village. Today you will be able to view big pine forest, birds, wildlifes, animals grazing on pasture, hilly regions, Sherpa village, monasteries and Numbur Mountain (6959m)  to the North of Junbesi. After reaching Junbesi if you have extra time you can take side trip to Thubten Chholing- a huge Buddhist monastery - which takes 3 hours walk both way. Thubten Chholing is large, impressive and active religious community living in exile where we see more than 100 monks and  200 nuns chanting whole day. Stay overnight on hotel at Junbesi.

Day 07: Nunthala (2194m)
Walking time: 5.5 hours
After crossing Junbesi river ascending uphill through forest until Khurtangridge you will see first view of Everest(8848m), Thamserku(6608m), Kantega(6779m), Kusum Khangkaru(6367m) and Mera peak(6654m). Now walk for 1 hour then descend to Ringmo khola . Cross the suspension bridge at Ringmo river and follow uphill trail to Trakshindu La (3071m). From here rest of the trail descends steeply down through the conifer and Rhododendron forest till Nhuntala.

Day 08: Khari la (3145m)
Walking time: 6 hours
Trail descents to the Dudh Kosi River through the forest. After crossing suspension bridge on dudhkoshi river trail ascends uphill to Khari La. Today you will pass through the village of indigenous community of Rai and Sherpa and their farming lands where barley, wheat, corn, potato, vegetables, millet and fruits are cultivated. These communities are totally different from other villagers. Most of people here are more work hard in a field or work as a porter.

Day 09: Chablung (2660m)
Walking time: 5 hours
Trail descends easy into the deep canyon of the valley – Paiya Valley. Today we walk through the mule track/porter track passing through forest which is narrow trail alongside of Bhote Koshi river to reach Surke. Be careful while passing this narrow trail. From Surke you have option to go Chablung  through Lukla or catch shortcut trail gradually uphill to Chablung. You will see forests, mountains, sherpa villages, deep canyon valley and deep river gorge.

Day 10: Namche (3440m)
Walking time: 6 hours
Trail goes through the bank of the Bhotekosi River which is easy slightly uphill until the junction of Bhotkosi & Dudh kosi river then rest of the trail follows steeply uphill through pine forest to Namche. Today you need to cross many suspension bridges and pass through sherpa village, mani wall, monasteries, farming land and pine forest and enter Sagarmatha national park. We will buy trekking permit for you here. This area is overcrowded by the local porters & tourists.

Day 11: Acclimatization day
Walking time: 3 to 5 hours
There is much option to explore around but we will suggest you to make circuit of twin’s village ( Khumjung and Khunde ) and  Everest view hotel where you will opportunity to see panoramic mountain view. To grab this opportunity, you need to hike steeply uphill through ridge to reach Syangboche airport which is the highest airport in the world. Ascend uphill to Everest view hotel to enjoy the panoramic view of Mt. Everest. Now heading towards twins village, you need to cross the small hill to reach Khumjung . Khumjung is a typical Sherpa village where you can visit monasteries, Hilary School, Mani wall and Tibetan Chorten there. Adjacent to Khumjung  is another village – Khunde where Hilary hospital is located. From Khunde return back to Namche Bazar following the up and down trail.

Day 12: Tangboche (3860m)
Walking time: 5.5 hours
Follow the easy flat trail until Khyangjuma then descend downhill all the way to Dudh kosi river, after that you need to walk steeply uphill to Tangboche passing through the forest. Along the trail you will see nice Mountain View and valley view. You will pass through local village and colorful forest. As you reach Tangboche you should not miss the famous Tangboche monastery which is heart of the Khumbu region. Monk opens the monastery everyday at 3PM for chanting and offering prayers.

Day 13: Dingboche (4410m)
Walking time: 5.5 hours
Wake up early in the morning to get an opportunity to view the breathtaking golden view of mountains including Mt. Everest during sunrise. After breakfast walk through the trail alongside the rhododendron forest that gradually descends to the suspension bridge from where the trail takes slightly ascending track till Dingboche. Now we have reached above the tree line to the alpine land. You have chances to see variety of birds including Nepalese national bird – ‘Danfe’, mountain wildlife, yak grazing on the meadow, windy valley, Mani wall, Pray flag, etc.
Day 14: Acclimatization day
Walking time: 5 hours
There is option for acclimatization, depending on your condition. We suggest you to hike along the ridge of Nangkar tshang hill at the 5000m elevation for acclimatizing with the high altitude that helps you to climb to Everest base camp. FYI high altitude hills is not so easy, so be prepared mentally & physically. This hill is windy from where you can see wonderful view of mountains and alpine grassy land. Stay here for at least 15 to 30 minutes then descend back to hotel and take rest. 

Day 15: Lobuche (4910m)
Walking time: 5.5 hours
Take the trail to the left  leaving Chhukung valley behind ascend gradually uphill to the stupa. Walk along the flat track for 2 hours to the Thukla. From Thukla ascend slowly uphill to Lobuche . Today you will pass alpine grassy land where you see many yaks & horses grazing on meadow, panoramic Mountain View, glacier and memorial stupa on the Thukla pass.

Day 16: Gorakshep & Everest Base Camp (EBC) (5140m/5364m)
Walking time: 7 hours
Today leave early to the Gorakshep which is gradually uphill. Until Everest base camp you have to follow bank of the Khumbu glacier by enjoying spectacular Mountain View whole day. You have to pass many windy valleys, bumpy trails which are rocky and sandy. You will hear the sound of glacier cracking and usually you can see avalanche close to the Mt. Nuptse(7861m). Your energy might deplete very fast so try to hike slowly and continuosly in a pace. Be ready mentally and physically you are close to your final destination. Here you will see Khumbu icefall, Khumbu glacier, Mt. Pumo Ri(7165m)), Mt. Lingtren(6749m), Mt. Khumbutse(6665m), Mt. Lho La(6026m), Mt. Everest(8848m), Mt. Nuptse(7861m), Mt. Tabuche(6367m) and Mt. Lobuche(6145m) .

Day 17: Hike to Kalapather(5550m) then to Dzongla (4830m)
Walking time: 3 hours to Kalapather then 4.5 hours to Dzongla
Today our trekking guide wakes up 2 hour before sunrise. Hike steeply uphill to Kalapather in a windy and freezing cold temperature. Today the trek is tough compared to other trek you have come across; ascend steeply up to reach the highest point of your trip - Kalapather. From the ridge of Kalapather you will be able to view the sunrise on the mountains. From here you will be able to see the very close view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablom, Mt. Thangserkhu, Mt. Tabuche, Mt. Cholache, Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Chongrila, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingten, Mt Khumbutse and Mt Lho la. After returning to Gorakshep take breakfast and follow previous trail until Lobuche. You have option here: either you can return back through the previous trail to Namche bazar or you can follow different trail (recommended) thropugh Cho la. If you follow track of Cho La Pass, you need to take trail to the right on Lobuche to Dzongla in Cho La valley. Take rest after getting to Dzongla to revive your energy for next day trek to Cho La pass – the highest pass.

Day 18: Over the Cho La(5420m) then to Dragnag (4700m)
Walking time: 7 hours
Trail is pretty easy first hour then ascends steeply uphill all the way to Cho La pass which is rocky & icy. Rest of the trail goes steeply down to the Cho La Phedi then easy downhill to Dragnag. If there is heavy snowfall, we recommend you not to move over the Cho la pass. From Cho la pass you will be able to see spectacular Mountain View, biggest glacier Ngozumba and some lakes around the glacier.

Day 19: Gokyo (4790m)
Walking time: 3.5 hours
Today trail goes through Glacier which is bit risky. You might lose the trail easily so it is advised for you to follow your trekking guide. When you pass the Ngozumba glacier then you will get to Gokyo which is sacred area for the Hindus & Buddhists. This area is peaceful & clean where you see huge Gokyo Lake. Now you do have an option for making good rest or hiking all the way to the fifth lake – Ngozumba Tsho(4990m). Form this area you will be able to see the close view of Ngozumba glacier, panoramic Mountain View including Mt.Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest & many more mountain peaks.

Day 20: Over the Gokyo peak (5360m) then to Dhole (4200m)
Walking time: Gokyo peak 3 hours and 4.5 hours to Dhole
Gokyo peak is the  best view point in our whole trip .Wake up early then ascend to the Gokyo peak where you will see the better view of sunrise on mountains compared to Kalapather. You will see 5 mountains above 8 thousand meters height viz: Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Lhotse Shar, Mt. Makalu and Mt. Everest, many other mountains between 6 to 8 thousand meters height viz: Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Tawachee, Mt. Cholo, Khangchung peak, Mt. Lobuche and  Nirekha peak and whole part of Ngozumba glacier. From here descend to the hotel and follow the downhill bank of the Dhudhkosi River till Dhole. You will be passing through yak pasture, local tea house, alpine land, lake, rivers, mountain wildlife & glaciers.

Day 21: Namche (3440m)
Walking hour: 5 hours
Follow the bank of the Dhudh koshi river through a forest, which is easy downhill all the way to Phortse Thanga then climb up 1.5 hour to Mong La hill then rest of the trail goes downhill till Namche. You will see valley view, Mountain View, Local Sherpa village, Pasture, River gorge, Forest, Monastery, Chorten, and Wildlife. You can chill out the remaining time in Namche to get rid of your tiredness.

Day 22: Lukla (2840m)
Walking time: 6 hours
Today is your last day on Himalayas so try to make your trip memorable. Take steeply downhill through pine forest until highest suspension bridge then follow the bumpy trail by the  bank of the Dudh Koshi river to Lukla. When you get to Lukla reconfirm you flight ticket and you can enjoy rest of the time with your trekking staffs.

Day 23: Fly back to Kathmandu
It is 35 minutes flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. Your trekking guide will take you to your hotel. If you want to stay more then you have to arrange accommodations by yourself. If the weather goes bad, your flight from Lukla to Kathmandu might get postponed. Please get prepared for this and be flexible.
Day 24: Departure from Kathmandu
